Japan

Well, this is certainly the most interresting part of my life. When I first moved to Japan, we lived in a crowded apartment(like many Japanese people do) a few miles from the base. I had to get bused to the school on-base every morning for the first 8 or 9 months. Then, we moved to a brand new house on-base. I used to ride my bike around everywhere(since the speed limit rarely got as high as 25 mph). While I was there, I learned to speak, read, and write Japanese, as I was there for 5 1/2 years. There really wasn't a whole lot of things to do there, since it was so expensive to live there. I wouldn't have had much money to do much at all, except for the fact that they offered summer jobs where where I earned about 1,000 $ each summer for 2 years. I had a lot of 'biker' friends and we used to just cruise around the river and mountains near the base. We found this really cool place to bike called 'The Bowl' where you could ride your bike down this 15-foot hill at 80 degrees then it would level out before it went back up at about 80 degrees. It was really fun since you get really good air at the end of the jump. We also used to just practice bike tricks like bunny hops and endos. Well, I guess that's about it for Japan.
